John Lennon's son, Julian Lennon, recently opened up about his relationship with his estranged father, revealing the role the music legend played in his life.

The standout, who released his latest book, Life's Fragile Moments, in September 2024, sat down with Alec Baldwin for the January 28 episode of the award-winning actor's podcast, Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin, to discuss the relationship he had with both his parents.

John Lennon married Cynthia Powell in 1962 when she was pregnant with Julian, per History.com. The pair divorced in 1968 amid the late "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" hitmaker's affair with Yoko Ono.

The beloved musician, author, and photographer immediately referred to his mother as the parent who raised him in the "Imagine" icon's absence.

"I mean when Dad left when I was about three or four or whatever. Apparently, I used to have nightmares about it because obviously he was dad at that point in time. But, you know, other people filled that void."

He continued, revealing details about his first stepfather and the strong bond he shared with Powell.

"My first stepfather, who was Italian, was like an older brother to me, another nut job and someone who I looked up to massively, and we continued that relationship until his death about twenty years ago. But yeah, it was just Mom and I, you know, and I think I am the way I am truly because of her and because...well how she dealt with the situation she was left in that she had no choice."

Lennon praised his mother for moving on with her life when his dad left, and raising him to the best of her ability.

"You know, she could have screamed and shouted about it, but she didn't. I felt that she just had dignity and grace and moved on with her life as best she could, and you know, survived it pretty well. And I carried that, and I definitely feel I carried that without question."

He proceeded, zooming in on a phase when his actions were comparable to that of The Beatles' co-founder.

"This is one thing she said to me, and I certainly took it to heart when I was a bit more rough around the edges, which was that I was very much like Mum in the week and Dad at the weekends."
