Via usatoday.com. One of the biggest shows in television history debuted this week, 70 years ago. "I Love Lucy" debuted October 15, 1951 and became the top rated TV show until the end of it's run in May of 1957.
Starring Lucille Ball and her real life husband Desi Arnaz, this megahit is considered the cornerstone of sitcoms today, from Desi's technical ideas like the three camera shot, to the crazy plot lines around Lucy's desire to be a part of show business like her bandleader husband. And now, their rise to the top is a movie with some big name stars.
"Being The Ricardo's" brings us into a week of the lives of Lucy and Desi on the set of their show. Lucille Ball is played by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem is Desi Arnaz.
In the trailer Lucy says, "I get paid a fortune to do exactly what I love doing. I work side by side with my husband who is genuinely impressed by me. And all I have to do it is kill for 36 weeks in a row. And then, do it again the next year."
"Being The Ricardos" is out in theatres December 10th and streaming on Amazon Prime starting December 21st.
