Florida Officials Find 5-Foot Alligator Inside Burmese Python

In a shocking video that's gone viral, a group of Florida geoscientists can be seen removing a five-foot-long alligator from the stomach of a Burmese python.

"This particular python was roughly 18-foot and had consumed a five-foot alligator," geoscientist Rosie Moore explains. She adds the large snake was captured in the Florida Everglades and euthanized before it was turned over to her research lab.

Because they're considered a threat to Florida's ecologically sensitive areas, state law calls for all captured Burmese pythons to be euthanized.

What's the most incredible thing you've seen an animal do?
