Shelby has been awarded a grant of $882,000 to install a sidewalk on Mickey Road.
According to RichlandSource.com, the money is coming via ODOT's Highway Safety Improvement Program. Shelby will contribute $98,000 to add the sidewalk from Mullins Drive to Mansfield Ave.
This is a part of a major reconstruction of Mickey Road in Shelby, which will see new pavement, installation of storm sewers, curbs and more. The total project will be $3.8 million, with Shelby covering 20% of the cost, which is $762,000. The project will begin in 2027.
