Fatal Crash in Knox County
Mount Vernon - The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:06 PM, on State Route 3 near milepost 23 north of Mount Vernon in Knox County.
Joseph Morr, age 30 of Mansfield, Ohio, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer southwest on State Route 3. Mr. Morr drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. Mr. Morr then struck a tree, overturned, and struck a building.
Mr. Morr was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and/or drug use is unknown at this time.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe Township Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation.
