Fredericktown Woman, 81, Dies Following Crash in Morrow County on Route 95

Fatal Crash in Morrow County

Chesterville - The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:37 AM, on State Route 95 at Township Road 176 in Chester Township, Morrow County.

Shirley Estridge, age 81 of Fredericktown, Ohio, was operating a 2025 Chevrolet Trax southbound on Township Road 176. Ms. Estridge failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign and was struck by a 2021 Dodge Charger operated by Ethan Licthenberger, age 20 of Mount Gilead, Ohio.

Ms. Estridge was flown from the scene by Medflight to Ohio Health Grant Medical Center with serious injuries suspected and she later succumbed to her injuries. Ms. Estridge was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Mr. Licthenberger was taken to Morrow County Hospital with minor injuries suspected. Mr. Licthenberger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Big Walnut Fire/EMS and Morrow County Fire/EMS. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
