The president of the Mansfield School Employees association is hoping to have the reduction in force finalized by around the middle of next month.
The Mansfield School Board, in late February, approved a plan to cut $5 million from next year’s operating budget, after the most recent financial forecast projected an operating deficit, this school year, of nearly $4 million.
According to RichlandSource.com, the plan will see a staff reduction for 29 certified positions and 7 classified positions.
The deadline to complete the reduction in force is May 1st, but the hope is to have it finalized by April 17th.
