One dead, One In Hospital After Shooting Incident In Ashland

On June 10, 2019 beginning at 2346 hours three separate 911 calls were answered by Ashland Police Division dispatchers.

The callers reported hearing gun shots and screaming at the Almond Tree Inn located at 1423 Cleveland Ave. Ashland, Ohio. One caller reported that a male had been shot.

When Officers, and paramedics from the Ashland Fire Division arrived, they found a 28 year old female and a 26 year old male with gunshot wounds. Both are residents of separate apartments at the Almond Tree Inn. The female victim was transported by squad to UH Samaritan Hospital. Her condition is unknown. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Ohio BCI was called in to process the scene.

Officers and detectives, with the assistance of The Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, worked to identify, locate, and take into custody four suspects.

Taken into custody were a 19 year old male, two 17 year old males and a 16 year old male. All are residents of the City of Ashland. A .22 caliber pistol was recovered at the residence of one of the suspects. The adult male is being held at the Ashland County Jail and the juveniles were transported to juvenile detention facilities in Richland and Erie County.

No charges have been filed, pending a review by the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office.
