Woman Who Recently Got Her License Back Crashes Through Liquor Store

A Michigan woman who recently got her driver's license back has been arrested after she backed her SUV through the front door of a liquor store, sending a man to the hospital. A store clerk told WZZM that the woman, identified as 37-year-old Samantha Baxter, was "driving erratically" before she backed her entire SUV into the store.

Surveillance video from inside and outside the store captured the entire scene. As the woman backs through the entrance, two men can be seen trying to jump out of the way. She hit one of the men, sending him flying to the back of the store. He was taken the hospital where he is being treated for a broken leg and a broken hip.

"I don't know if she saw something but she went into reverse and she came 60 or 70 miles an hour and came right back and right into the front of the store," said Summet Singh, the store owner's son.

Baxter was arrested at the scene and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance causing injury, and as a habitual offender. According to the Detroit Free Press, Baxter has been convicted of multiple crimes including "controlled substance possession, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, escaping while awaiting trial for a felony, resisting arrest, larceny in a building and tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
