Kiwanis, if you did not know, is an international non-profit organization with a motto “Serving the children of the world” with volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Our vision statement is to be a positive influence in communities so that one day all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them, and provide the support they need to thrive. We always welcome new members. Our meetings are at The Vault Wine Bar on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at noon. Please join us to see what we are all about.

Your local Shelby Kiwanis raises funds so that we can provide financial assistance in various ways in the community to benefit our children. Some of our ongoing projects include donations to Marvin Memorial Summer Reading program, providing volunteers to help with the Libraries’ Kids Carnival and Spokes -n-Floats, and donating back packs to the Shelby Help Line are an every year occurrence. We have also had some projects that were a one-time assistance. These include bicycle helmets for our youth, the maneuverability course at the Shelby Y and financial support for the materials for a young man earning his Eagle Scout to build benches for the girls soccer field. We are always looking for ways to support projects in the community that will benefit our local children.

So please join us at The Vault for a delicious meal and help to support your local Kiwanis. The tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at The Vault on any of the event days or advance tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member or you may contact Mary Hooks at 419-544-7929.
