On May 2, 2026 at 11:09AM, the Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls regarding a three-vehicle crash that had occurred on US-30 east of St. Rte. 598. Sheriff Kent, Chief Deputy Filliater and Deputies responded to the scene, along with Crestline Fire Department, Galion Fire Department, and Jefferson Township Fire Department.

Upon arrival, one female passenger was pronounced deceased; two other male passengers inside the same vehicle were seriously injured and both are in “Critical Condition” at this time. Two other juvenile males inside the vehicle sustained minor injuries and the driver of the vehicle had no injuries. The driver and injured passengers were transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Three other involved parties in two other vehicles were not injured in the crash.
The investigation indicates that Vehicle #1 was passing Vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 lost control of the vehicle on the went roadways, going into the outer westbound lane and eventually coming to rest, along the shoulder of the roadway, facing east.
Vehicle #2 seen Vehicle #1 out of control and rapidly slowed to avoid collision with Vehicle #1. Vehicle #3 struck Vehicle #2 in the left rear of the semi-trailer. Vehicle #3 came to rest partially on the roadway, in the inner lane, facing north.
Heather Blair was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Crawford County Coroner’s Office. All other occupants from Vehicle #3 were transported to Mansfield MedCentral for their injuries.
Ronk’s Towing was called to the scene and removed Vehicle #3. The other involved vehicles were able to be driven from the scene without incident.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Galion Fire Department, Crestline Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Crawford County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit.
The crash remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
