Richland County Commissioners Approves $1 Million For Small Business Grants

The Richland County Commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved adding $1 million to the Small Business COVID-19 Grant program.

RichlandSource.com reports, the initial money was used up quickly with more than 250 applications. Commissioner Marilyn John said this will allow them to cast a wider net to help some businesses that didn’t qualify in the first round. The maximum grant is $7,500, while others can be eligible for $2,500.

The Commissioners also created a fund of $500,000 for area non-profits to apply for grants.
