Fredericktown Police Arrest Columbus Man On Two Felony Counts Of Forgery

Fredericktown: Collaboration between Officers of the Fredericktown Police Department and employees of the First Knox National Bank result in arrest.

Lt. Kyle Johnson of the Fredericktown Police Department said on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 2:51 pm, Fredericktown Police Department Officers Ptl. Josh Jones and Ptl. Ronny Flynn were dispatched to First Knox National Bank in regards to a subject that was currently inside the bank attempting to commit a fraud.

Once on scene officers discovered that Field N. Harris, 49, of Columbus, OH was in the process of attempting to cash a fraudulently created business check. At the conclusion of the investigation, Harris was arrested and charged with two felony counts; forgery and passing bad checks. Harris has an extensive criminal history and is currently being held at the Knox County Jail.

Johnson credits the employees of First Knox National Bank for their ability to identify this fraudulent activity and report it in such a prompt manner. Johnson said it is due to the diligence and prompt action by bank employees that Harris was able to be apprehended.
