A Wichita, Kansas man who spent time in federal prison for robbing a bank seven years ago is back in jail after allegedly trying to rob the same bank again this week.

Prosecutors say Brent Allen Drees, 50, of Wichita, has been charged with one count of bank robbery. U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said in a release that Drees allegedly robbed the Conway Bank on Tuesday after giving the teller a note that read, "Give me $3,000 and you won't get hurt."

Drees was arrested Thursday afternoon after a tip led investigators to his location in the area on the south side of Wichita, Officer Paul Cruz said in a release.

The Wichita Eagle reports that Drees was recently released from federal prison last year after serving 46-months for bank robbery.

Federal court records reveal that Drees had previously pleaded guilty to two Wichita bank robberies, including the same Conway bank in September 2011, as well as at the Emprise Bank later that month.

Drees used similar notes on those two occasions, court records show.
