Listen to Gregg Allman on iHeartRadio

The future of the Gregg Allman biopic "Midnight Rider" is in limbo.  Sources tell production on the film has been suspended indefinitely in the wake of a train accident that killed a crew member last week in Georgia.

Possible legal and criminal ramifications loom over the production.  Savannah TV station WSAV reported this week that the production crew was denied permission to film on the railroad trestle where the accident occurred.

Twenty seven-year-old assistant camera operator Sarah Jones was killed after she was struck by the train during set-up for a dream sequence on the first day of filming last Thursday.  Seven other people were injured.

Based on Gregg Allman's 2012 biography My Cross To Bear, Midnight Rider has Tyson Ritter and William Hurt playing younger and older versions of the rocker.  Allman is also serving as an executive director on the film.
