Listen to As I Lay Dying on iHeartRadio

Former As I Lay Dying guitarist Nick Hipa isn't happy with a lengthy interview frontman Tim Lambesis gave to Alternative Press.

The interview was posted online Friday shortly after Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison for attempting to hire someone to kill his estranged wife, Meggan.

Hipa explains in a long Facebook post that he was in the courtroom that day only to support Meggan.  He says the "apparent remorse" Lambesis shows in the pre-sentencing interview is just a facade covering what he calls a "fairly appalling agenda" to further damage the lives and reputations of his "non-supporters."

Hipa says there is no contrition in Lambesis' "pseudo-philosophical jargon," and calls his comments about his former As I Lay Dying bandmates "absolute slander."

Hipa also claims that Lambesis' attempt to create an air of sympathy and support through defamation is working.  He says strangers have "projected hatred" toward himself and others who chose to defend Lambesis' victims.

But Hipa says he and the rest of As I Lay Dying will continue to carry on "knowing they behaved honorably, lovingly, and loyally."  They recently started a new band called Wovenwar.
